Every four years the Neon Corp board will vote on Overseers – the human CPUs and OSes of arcologies. They Overseers are somewhat similar to CEOs but their role is much more demanding as they must devote their whole existence into this servitude lasting for four years. It is a great honor to be selected as the supreme guardian and protector of a million souls living in an arcology and many see it as a pinnacle of their own career as a corporate leader.
The Overseer becomes the structure and senses everything the structure senses through the massive array of sensors embedded into the building. The Overseer controls the building via a CyberHance Totality immersion device. In addition to making it possible for a person to become a building it will sustain the person indefinitely and even slow down aging to a certain extent.
